Women’s active Participation in Dubai Real Estate Game

Female investors contributed to sectors growth with 33,419 sales transactions worth AED 58.9 Billion

While the Dubai Real Estate market has taken an upward momentum since the pandemic, one more thing that has taken a streak rise in the market is the participation of women investors.

In 2022 alone, 26,698 female investors registered 33,419 properties with a whopping value of AED 58.8 Billion in the emirate. A 50.7% growth in volume and a 53% growth in value compared to 2021. The number of women investing in the sector in 2022 also increased by 50.8% from 2021, according to Dubai Land Department (DLD) data.

Women’s increasing investments in Dubai’s real estate market reflect the UAE’s leadership’s objective of empowering women to engage in all realms of life and economic sectors.

Furthermore, the emirate’s strong regulatory framework, which provides utmost protection for investments, Dubai’s positive economic outlook and resilience to regional and global fluctuations, the safety of ex-pats in the city, and the city’s exceptional infrastructure have all encouraged women to invest in the local sector. The sector’s capacity to sustain the expansion and give some of the finest returns on real estate investments in the world has also inspired female investment.

Women are set to play a vital role in achieving the goal of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, announced recently by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to double the size of the emirate’s economy by 2033, with rising participation of women across economic sectors and a growing culture of gender balance in organizations across the emirate.

Dubai’s real estate sector finished another spectacular year, with yearly transactions reaching new milestones, establishing the sector as a major contributor to the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 targets. Annual real estate sales in the emirate surpassed the half-billion dirham mark for the first time in 2022, with 122,658 transactions valued at AED 528 Billion.

Women – Investors, Developers, Agents…

Women’s roles in real estate were not restricted to investing. They also contributed to the industry as developers, real estate agents, and employees. According to DLD data, women made up 34.8 per cent of registered real estate agents. A total of 4,519 women brokers were involved in 8,606 deals totalling Dh696 million. Women make up 42% of all workers in the Dubai Land Department and play critical roles in achieving the organization’s objectives across sectors and levels.
